Jana Pochop (yes, the “h” is silent) was born on a cold, November day in South Dakota and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Now she is a singer-songwriter in Austin, Texas, the warmest place she’s ever lived.

Jana’s been changing her strings a lot lately, from touring nationally and working with Susan Gibson, one of Texas’ most esteemed singer-songwriters, to residencies at various Austin venues, to sharing the stage with Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines, two more Texas legends. Her 2008 EP, “The Early Year,” on which she played all the instruments, was produced by Daniel Barrett from the Austin band porterdavis.  Her 2nd EP is currently in the works with Barrett once again taking the reigns as producer.  It doesn’t have a title yet, but will by the time it is released in early 2010.
